Author Guidelines

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission file is in Microsoft Word.
  2. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  3. When available, the URLs to access references online are provided, including those for open access versions of the reference. The URLs are ready to click (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca).
  4. The text is in APA style (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. All quotations are within fair use (less than 150 words) or permission has been obtained from the copyright holder and is provided with the submission. Permission for reprinting any copyrighted photographs, figures or tables has been obtained from the copyright holder and is provided with the submission. Obtaining these permissions is the responsibility of the author(s).

(1) As a condition of publication, we ask that you execute this assignment to assign copyright for your submission to the HPJSWP.
(2) By agreeing to this assignment, you agree and promise that you are the sole author(s) and owner(s) of all rights to the work; that the work is original; that the work has not been previously published; that the work does not infringe on any personal or property rights of another, that the work does not contain anything libelous or otherwise illegal, and that you have the full power to enter into this agreement.
